The ProgramThe Alpena School District is very proud of the accomplishments the Alpena Bands have made over the years. Our award-winning middle school and high school bands represent Alpena and our community in a variety of local parades, concerts, athletic events, and band festival events, where we have received some of the highest honors possible at the district and state level. On an individual basis, Alpena Band students have participated in clinics and workshops, and have consistently been selected to perform in various All-State and Honors Ensembles.

Our GoalsBeing in band gives students the lifelong and universal skill of music. Music learning supports all learning while having positive effects on people’s emotion and creativity. The performances, trips, and moments students have in band will be some of the more memorable and lasting experiences during their time in school.
